Ingrid Betancourt ~ Petition

The petition in assistance for Ingrid Betancourt and the hostages held in Colombia and which now counts close to 600,000 signatures, was formally introduced to French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the Elysée Palace in Paris on Monday the 1st of April. The Assist Committee’s delegation was obtained by President Sarkozy for a 50 % hour meeting. These photographs ended up taken ouside the Elysée Palace.

Later on that afternoon, Mr. Sarkozy manufactured a formal televised handle exactly where he spoke right to the FARC, calling for Ingrid’s release and stating that France and the Worldwide local community are determined to do all they can to avert her dying. Ingrid’s son Lorenzo, has manufactured an appeal for the world’s governments to rally with each other in buy to conserve his mother and for citizens to make their voice observed by marching massively, in assistance of Ingrid and the other hostages, in marches across France on Sunday the 6th of April 2008. A number of cities have spontaneously organised marches and gatherings, with new kinds joining day-to-day – I invite you to do the same anywhere you could be. There is also a march in support of all the hostages getting spot in Bogota, Colombia on Friday 4th April 2008. In Paris (France), the ‘Marche Blanche’ / ‘March in White’ starts at 14h30 (2:30pm), at the Place de l’Opéra, 75009. 02/04/2008: A French, Spanish and Swiss delegation has set-off to consider and build get in touch with with the FARC in the Colombian jungle. This is a race towards the clock to save Ingrid – time is restricted and there is no assure at all that the FARC will reply favourably.
